Content & Editorial Lead
London / Remote
Designer Babe® is a creative institution building what comes next across culture, education, media, experiences, community, and technology. We create spaces, ideas, and infrastructure that give creative people greater ownership of their time, talent, and future.
Company Description
How do you take raw ideas, cultural observations, and strong points of view and turn them into writing that travels? How do you build an editorial engine for an institution without flattening its thinking into generic internet content?
These are some of the challenges you’ll work on as Content & Editorial Lead at Designer Babe.
You’ll sit close to the centre of the institution, building the system around our publications, essays, research, stories, and cultural documentation so they reach the people they are meant for. You’ll bring editorial discipline to complex ideas, shape how our thinking is distributed across mediums, and build the living archive of an expanding creative institution.
Here’s how you’ll contribute
Own the editorial calendar, publishing cadence, and distribution across Designer Babe’s platforms, newsletters, and social channels
Turn raw concepts, voice notes, conversations, and event transcripts into sharp, publication-ready writing while fiercely protecting the original voice
Translate long-form essays and complex cultural observations into compelling social formats without cheapening or diluting the underlying idea
Build editorial workflows and publishing systems that keep production moving consistently across contributors, photographers, and designers
Identify cultural shifts, people, texts, and emerging dialogues worth bringing into the Designer Babe universe
Archive and curate the ideas, essays, and milestones that document this era of the institution
Understand resonance, distribution, and reach without allowing algorithm chasing to dictate taste or editorial integrity
This role will give you the opportunity to
Help architect the public intellectual footprint of an ambitious creative institution
Work at the intersection of design, culture, literature, technology, and community
Edit, publish, and distribute work that challenges standard corporate creative tropes
Work closely with the founder and hold meaningful ownership over how ideas are articulated and preserved
About you
You have significant experience in editorial direction, long-form writing, publishing, or cultural journalism, ideally within a creative publication, studio, or high-taste brand
You possess uncompromising editorial judgement of something that is merely polished and something that is genuinely compelling
You understand cadence, rhythm, tone, and restraint in modern prose
You can move effortlessly between shaping a newsletter hook, drafting a social narrative, and cataloguing an archive piece
You are comfortable bringing structure to abstract thoughts and working with visionaries whose ideas move quickly
You view content not as marketing decoration around the work, but as how an institution thinks out loud
